Recently, I found myself
needing some clarity on the City of Mesa's policy with regard to use
of public areas. In particular, I was confused by the definitions
of "public" area v. "private" area v.
"government" area. I wanted to know what kind of access
to public spaces is available to political groups in Mesa. So I
wrote the City attorney, Deborah Spinner, about this issue.

The Greens are a grassroots political party. This means that we are committed to both activist and electoral politics. Mesa Greens are always looking for interested and qualified people to run for local offices including Mesa City Council and Mesa School Board in the next election cycle. We are planning early and thoroughly to ensure success. Please join us to discuss current events, including the environment, social justice, non-violence, and how we can take back the commons. We meet twice a month on the first and third Tuesdays at 7pm at Borders in Mesa. The store is located on Holmes just east of Alma School and south of Southern.
